| Rose-Blanche is a relatively short - but twisty - 45-minute drive East of Port-aux-Basques.
Count, however, on driving 3 to 4 hours to reach Burgeo. Be advised that there is no service station along Route 480 between the Transcanada Highway and Burgeo (150 km). A coastal ferry provides daily service between Rose-Blanche, La Poile and Grand Bruit (two outports located between Rose-Blanche and Burgeo). Once a week, on Tuesdays, the ferry runs between Burgeo and Grand Bruit. Another ferry provides service between Burgeo, Grey River and François. It makes one weekly trip to McCallum and Hermitage, farther East. Hermitage can also be reached by road from the Transcanada Highway in Windsor/Grand Falls Gros Morne National Park is located approximately 4 hours North of Port-aux-Basques by car and is well worth a side trip!
